“Everyone thinks that fashion is very disposable, because there are new collections, season after season. At the time when we started, in the early 90s, there was this idea that the fashion world could change almost in one day, which is scary for us as art directors. The two of us have always worked around the idea of history in the fashion world. When we worked with Yohji Yamamoto we created in 2001 this book titled Rewind-Forward, around the end of our collaboration after many seasons of creating imagery and publications. It is a compilation of all the images that we initially made to promote Yohji’s previous collections over a period of 5 years. We recycled them to establish them (and ourselves) in the history of the brand as we felt they were still artistically relevant to the designer’s image.” - M/M (Paris)
