"My project delves into the sensory odyssey of Visionaire 42 ‘Scent’, two decades after its original publication, offering a comprehensive exploration of the intricate interplay between sight and smell, as well as the other sensory modalities involved in one’s experience of a material publication.

Through this essay, we will delve into the artistic journey behind select pairings of particular importance to the editors (most notably Cecilia Dean, whom I had the pleasure of interviewing), highlighting the innovative vision that transformed this ambitious project into a tangible, multisensory experience.

Moreover, this essay provides a thorough elucidation of the sensory evocations of selected spreads, utilizing one expressive medium which was largely untapped in the original ‘Scent’ issue — written language."
