Per Spook Haute Couture: L'Impératrice De La Nuit

L'Impératrice de la Nuit speaks of intimacy: the one of a friendship between couturier Per Spook and Madame Hélène Martini, the empress of the night; that of the wardrobe of a woman for whom elegance was a rule; the personal diary of a widow at the head of an empire.

The haute couture outfits presented in this book were all imagined, designed and made for Madame Martini by Per Spook between 1966 and 1994. The photographs were taken by the designer himself in Norway between 2019 and 2021.

Per Spook is Norway's most influential fashion designer. He moved to Paris when he was 20 years old where he worked as a freelance designer at Christian Dior and Saint Laurent. From 1977-1995, Spook ran his own fashion house in Paris.
