BOOK LAUNCH: On Wednesday 27th of August you’re invited to the launch of photographer Ola Rindal’s new photo book “Stains and Ashes” at International Library of Fashion Research. From 18.00-20.00 there will be free drinks, an artist’s talk between Ola Rindal & Morten Andenæs and limited edition books for sale. Welcome!
Stains, cracks and imperfections in our everyday environment… “Stains & Ashes” explores these often overlooked elements, transforming them into sculptures, sketches or apertures. The book invites us to delve into a world where the ordinary becomes matter for contemplation. Far from aiming for sharp focus, Ola Rindal employs blurriness and abstraction to express distance, the inability to fully grasp reality – like a fading memory or a fragment of the subconscious.
Ola Rindal is a Norwegian photographer based in Paris, France and Fåvang, Norway. After assisting Tom Sandberg, Rindal graduated from the Photography and Film department at Gothenburg University in 1997. Rindal has published 14 books with his work, and his work has been displayed in galleries around the world. He has collaborated with international magazines such as Purple, Self Service, SSAW, Luncheon, Apartamento, i-D, Another Magazine and with clients such as Lemaire, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Maison Martin Margiela. Rindal is also known for his long term collaboration with artists Xavier Veilhan and Pierre Huyghe.
