Guest Salons #14: Ann-Sofie Back and Anders Edström on their Collaborative Creation of Image(s)

Tuesday, March 4, 2025 – 17:00Tuesday, March 4, 2025 – 19:00

On the occasion of the current exhibition, "Ann-Sofie Back and the Image(s)" at International Library of Fashion Research, we're excited to welcome Ann-Sofie Back herself, as well as her long-time collaborator and fashion photographer Anders Edström for their Guest Salon. How has their collaboration contributed to the creation of Ann-Sofie Back's image as a designer? Tuesday, 4th of March from 18.00-20.00. Free coffee & notebooks. Welcome!

Ann-Sofie Back is often referred to as Sweden’s most influential fashion designer, known for her subversive and thought-provoking fashion that blurs the lines between art and clothing. Her designs challenge conventional boundaries between high fashion and artistic expression, often drawing inspiration from clichés about femininity, shame, and failed glamour.

Anders Edström is internationally renowned for his nuanced explorations of time, memory, and place, in his photography and film-making. His work in fashion began in the 1990s when he moved to Paris from Stockholm and met Martin Margiela, with whom he collaborated for many years. His client list includes Prada, Loewe, Jil Sander, Miu Miu and Stella McCartney, and magazines such as Self Service, M le Monde, i-D, The Gentlewoman, Purple Fashion and Fantastic Man.

This is the 14th edition of Guest Salons; an active meeting point for free conversations around and beyond fashion, once a month at International Library of Fashion Research.
