Guest Salons #18: A Rendezvous with August Barron

Friday, May 8, 2026 – 18:0020:00

International Library of Fashion Research

We're excited to welcome fashion designers and publishers Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestbø for their Guest Salon «A Rendezvous with August Barron». Join us on Friday 8th of May from 18.00-20.00. Drinks will be served. Welcome!

August Barron is a fashion brand founded by Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestbø and publisher of ALL–IN magazine. The brand was first established as a magazine in 2015, and the first collection was presented in 2019. August Barron’s collections center around recontextualizing existing garments, shifting their contexts to depict familiar yet unplaceable characters. The publication and collection continuously respond to each other, exploring parallel themes across both platforms. Their Guest Salon will further explore how August Barron works with format thinking and design dimensions, from their fashion collections to their magazine making. How does their work tie into fashion’s visual culture at large? And how does content shape form, and vice versa?

This is the 18th edition of Guest Salons; an active meeting point for free conversations around and beyond fashion. In collaboration with the Norwegian graphic designer’s union Grafill, this season’s Guest Salons extend on Edoardo Ferrari’s research project “Fold-Out: Tracing Nordic Fashion Magazines” that takes the temperature on the current state of fashion publishing. The series is generously supported by Sparebankstiftelsen DNB.

The event is free, but please sign up via THIS link.
