We are pleased to announce Edoardo Ferrari as the researcher-in-residence selected for ’Nordic Fashion, Printed Culture & Heritage Making’! The pilot programme will unfold this fall/winter with the generous support of Nordic Culture Fund. The jury, consisting of leading Nordic fashion academics and experts, received 23 research proposals of impressive quality and innovation.

Edoardo Ferrari is a PhD candidate in Fashion at Iuav University of Venice and a graphic designer. He is based in Amsterdam, where he recently completed a research period at Studio Jop van Bennekom/Fantastic Man. Over the years, Ferrari has engaged with Nordic culture through various projects, including an exhibition at Bladr bookshop in Copenhagen and designing publications for the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm.

His research project for the ’Nordic Fashion, Printed Culture & Heritage Making’ programme seeks to understand how the cultural and historical heritage of the Nordic region has been represented in fashion imagery. Through an archive-based study of both printed materials and digital media, Ferrari will examine how systems of image-making function as active agents in the process of meaning creation. The project encourages a dynamic exchange between conceptual frameworks and visual culture.
