International Library of Fashion Research presents Slow Fashion Book Club! Once a month, the book club will explore the intersection between fashion, environmentalism and social issues through a selected book. What impact does design, aesthetics and our sartorial choices have on the people around us and the planet? Slow Fashion Book Club is an open reading group for all seasoned industry nerds and curious newcomers.
This month's book is What Artists Wear by writer, fashion critic and art curator Charlie Porter. Porter has been described as one of the most influential fashion journalists of his time, and in this book, he takes us on a journey through the clothing of modern and contemporary artists, from O'Keeffe to Basquiat, Abramović and many more, exploring what role clothing plays in their lives and work.
