International Library of Fashion Research presents The Slow Fashion Book Club! Once a month, the book club will explore the intersection between fashion, environmentalism and social issues through a selected book. What impact does design, aesthetics and our sartorial choices have on the people around us and the planet? The Slow Fashion Book Club is an open reading group for all seasoned industry nerds and curious newcomers.
This month's book is Post-Growth Living - For An Alternative Hedonism by Kate Soper. The book presents a new vision of the good life, one that is capable of delinking prosperity from the cult of endless growth. In it, philosopher Kate Soper calls for a renewed emphasis on solidarity and the joys of being. Join the discussion on Wednesday, 9th April 2025 at 18.45-20.00.
