International Library of Fashion Research presents The Slow Fashion Book Club! Once a month, the book club will explore the intersection between fashion, environmentalism and social issues through a selected book. What impact does design, aesthetics and our sartorial choices have on the people around us and the planet? The Slow Fashion Book Club is an open reading group for all seasoned industry nerds and curious newcomers.
This month's book is Bad Taste - Or the Politics of Ugliness by Nathalie Olah, an interrogation of the importance we place on seemingly objective ideas of taste in a culture that is saturated by imagery, and the dangerous impact this has on our identities, communities and politics.
